Which exam should I choose and why?
- The Starters exam is the first of the exams that children can take. It is suitable for children from the first grade and tests understanding of very simple sentences.
- The Movers exam is suitable for children in primary school and tests the use of simple sentences, expressing agreement or disagreement and asking questions.
- The Flyers exam is suitable for primary school pupils and tests understanding of instructions in English as well as the ability to hold a normal conversation on simple topics.
- The KET tests English at A2 level and is suitable for beginner to intermediate students. This exam is an ideal starting point for progression to other exams and can be taken by children and primary school pupils.
- The PET exam tests English at B1 level and is particularly suitable for primary and secondary school students. It is ideal for all students who want to make sure they can pass the English Baccalaureate. It can also be used as a plus point in secondary school admissions.
- The FCE exam tests English at B2 level. This exam is most often taken by students of grammar schools and language schools. It is the most widely used English language exam in the world. It is also recognised as an English Baccalaureate, but also for university admissions or as a certificate for employment.
- The CAE exam tests English at C1 level and is particularly suitable for advanced students. This exam confirms that students have a very advanced knowledge of the language, the ability to understand long texts and to understand the wider context of a foreign language.
- The CPE exam tests English at C2 level and is therefore evidence of the highest possible level of the language. This exam is most often chosen by students who want to study at a foreign university or apply for jobs where English is required at a very advanced level.
