Types of interpreting:
- consecutive interpreting
- simultaneous interpreting
- certified interpreting
- telephone interpreting
- interpreting abroad
What is consecutive interpreting?
The consecutive, or subsequent interpreting, is the transfer of oral communication in parts. The speaker makes a part of his/her speech and then leaves room for the interpreter to interpret the message. The consecutive interpreting is not recommended for international conferences or large press conferences where three or more languages are interpreted.
What is simultaneous interpreting?
In simultaneous interpreting, the speech is translated simultaneously with the speaker. We choose this kind of interpreting for conferences, lectures and presentations, usually with a larger number of participants.
What is sworn interpreting?
The sworn interpreting is carried out by an interpreter registered in the list of experts and interpreters maintained by the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic. The sworn interpreting is required at a court hearing, at a notary’s or at a wedding. The sworn interpreter is independent, takes care of the accuracy of the interpretation and must make sure that the client understands everything.
